Her name is Daisy…
Shes a young border collie mix.
And this is her story.

Abandoned in July of 2009,
This pup lived under a freeway tunnel,
Bumming food out of garbage cans
Being Fed by volunteers, rescuers, tourists, and truckers
She lived in the harsh conditions, with a broken hip
Imagine enduring day after day of horrific pain.
Lucky for this pup, there was a family who cared.
There was many attempts to rescue this dog, but
petrified of people, she ran away again and again
After months of rescue effort, the rescue groups dropped away
One by one. Through all of this there was one family.
Driving 6 hours every weekend, sometimes even during the week
to feed and try to bond with the dog so she would trust them.
They were involved in every rescue effort possible since august.
FINALLY, December 5th, 2009 their efforts payed off.
at 7:30 in the morning, the dad of the family got close enough
to grab her. After 5 months she was off the streets.
The family brought her immediately to the vet clinic where I work.
The family spent close to $1,000 giving every kind of medical attention possible.
She’s getting a second chance at life, with a family who loves her.

apparently turning 24 means you exclusively listen to bands that don’t exist anymore?  since november 12th i have listen to solely northstar, lifter puller & the promise ring.  i saw northstar twice; lifter puller never, but i do have the hold steady who i’ve seen; i am so sad i didn’t see the promise ring in chicago for the flower booking show.  it was on my birthday too… i wish i was a cap’n jazz fan.  then i would have something to be possibly excited about.  does that make sense?

wow, cbs fm 101.1 you have lost a listener.  i often appeal to your frequency when in search of 60s soul, classic rock n roll and doo wop.  i can even overlook the horrific amount of disco from the 70s you seem to think of as “classic” while i wait for the rolling stones.  what i cannot overlook is your station head’s decision to broadcast hateful, ignorant and ridiculous anti-gay marriage commercials over the fm waves.  go fuck yourself if you really think anyone should give a shit about who marries who (whom marries whom? english majors?).  don’t ruin my morning by reminding me how stupid and small minded my state and my country is a the present time.
